I remember arriving home to my forest nook in Tofino, feeling overwhelmed by the growing to do’s of my day. Just before opening my door, this male Rufous Hummingbird climbed high into the air and then nose-dived as a courtship display for the nearby female. He did this on and off for an hour, resting on this branch in between flights. The playfulness of the ritual pulled me right out of my busy plans and fully into the present moment.
