As a poet before anything else, Sam has found metaphor to be a deeply healing and powerful tool throughout her self-love journey. Her most illuminating metaphors have been the mirrors found in the natural world. After looking through artworks created in the past two years, an underlying awareness has emerged: the earth can be our greatest teacher when learning to have compassion for ourselves. The Earth Knows How to Love Herself is a gallery exhibit that connects the themes across Sam Rose Phillips’ poetry, photography, and watercolour paintings.

You are made of stardust. No matter the configuration, this universal truth makes you beautiful. The Skin You’re In is Sam’s naked photo offering to connect you with that beauty. To remind you and show you your true nature and essence. You will be safe and respected in the presence of Sam and your vulnerability will be rewarded throughout this deeply healing experience.
